goMOMS Scholarship
The goMOMS Scholarship was established in 2017 to identify an individual of a multiple birth, recognize their accomplishments, and support them on their journey as they work toward their post-secondary education goals.
The 2024 Scholarship application period is now open!

To be eligible for the goMOMS Scholarship, applicant must be:

A child of a multiple birth (a twin, triplet, or higher order multiple) residing in Oakland or Macomb County, Michigan.

Applicant must be currently enrolled in or have the intention of attending an accredited educational institution or program of training: this may be a university, college, junior college, trade or vocational school within the school year of application submission.

The applicant may only be awarded the goMOMS Scholarship one time. If an applicant was not chosen in a given year, they may choose to resubmit an application the following year for consideration.
Academic Requirements:

Applicant must be a high school senior or equivalent, or enrolled in a post-secondary program within the school year of application submission.

Applicant must be currently enrolled or have the intention of being enrolled as a full time student, at least twelve or more hours/units in said educational institution or program of training.

The applicant must possess a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (“B”) or better. Applicants currently enrolled in an institution that does not have a GPA system must demonstrate an indication of advancing ability in the chosen field of study.
Application Requirements:

A completed goMOMS Scholarship Application Form and all required materials must be received by email by May 30, 2024. Any pending documents that need to be sent separately need to be clearly marked to identify the applicant.

The applicant must provide high school transcripts, college transcripts, or a GED certificate at the time of scholarship application.

If chosen to receive the goMOMS Scholarship, applicant must be able to provide proof of acceptance or current enrollment from a university, college, trade or vocational school before scholarship funds are awarded. A paid tuition statement may be used.

One letter of recommendation is required from the applicant from a source not related to the applicant. The recommendation can come from but is not limited to, employers, teachers, community or religious leaders attesting to the applicant's character, community service, scholastic accomplishments and desire to further education.

A completion of the following Short Answer Section typed in a document separate from the essay section below:

Please list and describe any academic honors, awards and membership activities that you participated in while in high school.

Please list and describe some of your hobbies, outside interests, extracurricular activities.

Please list and describe any volunteer activities you have participated in, in the local community.

In addition to the goMOMS Scholarship Application Form and Short Answer Question section, the applicant must include an Essay of at least 500 words, not exceeding 800 words.The essay topic for 2024: (What do you think is one of the main things that most divides our society today and what would you propose be done to close the gap?).
Scholarship Award

Up to two scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded to the selected applicants from the profits of our goMOMS yearly auction.

The scholarship award must be used for: tuition and fees, books, supplies, or equipment required in the courses at the attending educational institution the applicant has been accepted or currently enrolled.
Deadline
The goMOMS Scholarship Application Form, Short Answer Section, Essay and supporting documentation must be received by May 30, 2024.
