Membership - Why should you join GoMOMs?
|
Who are we?
Greater Oakland Mothers of Multiples (goMOMs) is a group
that brings together mothers of twins, triplets and quadruplets (or more) from the
Oakland County, MI, area to support each other in the unique situations encountered
with the pregnancy and raising of multiples. Our monthly meetings are geared towards
MOMs who need a break or shoulder to lean on. No one understands the issues that
a mother of multiples faces better than another mother of multiples. Overall, our
goal is to have fun, meet people who can truly relate to having multiples and even
laugh at the things that no one else can understand.
goMOMs is a nonprofit organization that is also affiliated with the National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, Inc. (NOMOTC).
Our dues are $35/year.
Multiple Benefits
Monthly Meetings: Held every 2nd Tuesday of the month (September through
May - November and June are off site) at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church at 1550
Walton Blvd. Rochester Hills, Michigan 48309
[MAP]. At each meeting we discuss any pending club business, have a special
activity or speaker and share a potluck or catered meal. View the calendar for more
information about our upcoming events.
Special Events: Holiday parties for the entire family, New MOMs Tea, Summer
Picnic, play dates, Summer MOMs nights out, family outings, Chick Flick Night, date
nights and more.
Clothing and Equipment Sale: Enjoy shopping during the "Members Only" presale
at our our semi-annual Clothing and Equipment Sale. You will find matching clothing,
double strollers and much more. Take advantage of our department store set up to
sell your gently used children's items. Also, GoMOMs members can get into MCMOM
(Macomb county Mothers of Multiples) sales 1/2 hour before it is open to the public.
Newsletters: The monthly goMOMs Gazette features all the events and activities
for our club. You will also receive the National Organization of Mothers of Twins
Clubs Notebook, the official news magazine for NOMOTC. It is published bi-monthly
and is filled with articles pertaining to the special aspects of parenting multiple
birth children.
New MOMs Chat: Prior to every general membership meeting, goMOMs holds a
New Moms Chat. This is an opportunity to discuss concerns, tell stories and share
tips with other new moms.
